Red Sky at Night Multi-disciplinary Arts Festival

The 11th annual Red Sky at Night Multi-Disciplinary took place on Saturday, 2 March 2024 on the grounds of the Harquail Cultural Centre. Approximately 2000 people attended the event which featured the best of Cayman’s artists, artisans, authors and craftspeople showcasing and selling their locally made and grown products and accessories which ranged from paintings, photography, sculptures, jewellery, leather goods and books to illustrations, woodwork, keychains, ceramic ware, plants and pepper sauces, jams and jellies, home and beauty accessories and more.

Patrons were entertained by steel pan bands, dramatists, actors, singers, musical theatre performers, poets and short films while enjoying delicious cassava cakes, cookies, cupcakes and other desserts, seafood, Cayman style beef and sides and soups. Kids also indulged their creative side in the Creative Kids Corner hosted by the Visual Arts Society.

Anchoring the event was the Caymanian Village which featured quadrille and maypole dancers, the
Cayman Islands Folk Singers, thatch and rope making, peppermint making, cooking on the caboose, storytelling, sweeping and backing sand and other activities which highlighted the richness of Cayman’s cultural traditions.
