Youth and Families

Our youth programmes offer workshops in drama, dance, music, film, crafts, and storytelling. The Summer Camp runs every July at the Harquail Theatre. Cultural Passports and other resources are available to download.

Creative Arts Camp

The Foundation’s Creativity Camp is an eagerly anticipated annual event held during the first weeks of July at the Harquail Theatre. The camp is designed to engage young people in various aspects of the visual, traditional, and performing arts, emphasising the rich culture and heritage of the Cayman Islands.

This immersive camp offers participants a unique opportunity to explore and celebrate Caymanian traditions through a wide range of activities. Campers will enjoy learning to play the steel pan, participating in dance workshops, going on cultural field trips, and engaging in arts and crafts, among other activities.

The camp fee covers all activities, food, and materials. Limited scholarships are available to ensure broader access, allowing more children to benefit from this enriching experience.

Registration opens each year in early June, with notifications shared via the website and the Foundation’s social media pages. We look forward to welcoming young participants to a summer filled with creativity, learning, and cultural discovery.

Cultural Passport Programme

Culture Keepers is an exciting and educational journey into the world of Caymanian arts and heritage. Designed for young explorers, this programme launched in 2024 in collaboration with other leading cultural organisations and heritage sites, including the Cayman Islands National Museum, Cayman Turtle Centre, The National Trust for the Cayman Islands, Pedro St. James, and the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands. Created to connect children and families with culture and heritage sites during their summer holidays, the programme encourages children to discover our community by embarking on a fun and engaging journey across the island.

How It Works:

  • Each child receives a special ‘passport’ booklet to document their cultural adventures.
  • For every cultural activity or event they participate in, they earn a stamp or sticker in their passport.
  • As children collect stamps in their passports, they can earn rewards and recognition for their participation.
